HPV Vaccine (Gardasil®)

Genital human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most commonly sexually transmitted disease in the United States. It affects both males and females, and is transmitted through any kind of genital contact with someone who has the virus. Intercourse isn’t necessary.  Since the virus has no signs or symptoms, many people who have HPV don’t even know it and unknowingly pass it on to their partner.

HPV has been connected to cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancers in women, other types of cancer in both men and women, genital warts and warts in the throat.

To protect against HPV, Women’s Care Group offers Gardasil. Gardasil is the only human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that guards against nine types of HPV. While Gardasil can prevent HPV, it cannot treat it. To learn more about HPV and Gardasil, visit their website or schedule a consultation.
